Gas Gas 450 FSE Blows 3 amp Fuse
After sitting on battery tendered tried to start by turning key and heard fuel pump charge like normal, cranked but did not start, turned ignition off then on and no lights or fuel pump just a blown 3 amp fuse in line with relay. Swapped relays and only thing I can find with meter is straight to ground on cable to starter, but it stills cranks just fine. I would like to check the diode shown on schematic but do not see it anywhere. Has anyone one else had this issue or know where diode is?

A diode is basically a one way valve. the most likely fault is a short in the fuel pump cabling, or in the fuel pump. A fuse is to protect the hardware from over current, which happens when there is a short to earth or a high resistance coil in the circuit. It could just as easily be a loose cable on the earth.
Removed ECU under tank and now fuse does not blow, one of the devices control by this ECU is problem but I cannot pinpoint. I was wondering if anyone has had luck with the diagnostic tool put out by Magneti Marellli maker of ECU?
Removed and checked starter, all appeared to be OK with brushes intact. Will continue to isolate items but it is looking like ECU is bad. Does anyone know if the diagnostic program is worth having? I think you need it to setup an ECU if replaced?
