Gateway boot problem
A friend gave me his gateway to get a virus out of; he said that it still operated well, but had issue when it was online. I have it at my house, but it will not do anything but bring up the logo screen with boot menu f10 and bios settings f2 displayed
i do not have his keyboard, I have a multimedia HP usb attached; is there a chance it will not detect the keyboard?

If it is not seeing the keyboard, you need to get a ps2 keyboard, go into the bios settings, and make sure usb keyboard support is turned on. Alot of times the default is disabled.
If the harddrive has a virus, make sure you reimage it or format it completely before using the unit.
