Gateway notebook goes BLACK when connecting new lcd tv to laptop
When connecting laptop to sony bravia xbr6 via hdmi my gateway screen goes BLACK and i get an 'unsupported signal' from the tv.
it works in windows safe mode however the resolution is so low the picture is horrible. i have tried lowering the resolution all the way down on the laptop and booting but no luck.
when the computer boots up i can see the boot up screen on the laptop AND the tv with no problem. when vista starts..everything goes black!

Try setting the frequency down to 60hz and the resolution before you connect. then if it works you can set it up again with a setting the TV likes
