GE Dishwasher Won't Heat Up
I have a GE Dishwasher Model GDF620HGJ0BB. The dishes haven't been coming clean for some time... a greasy film on everything. I just noticed that the water doesn't get hot... checked it mid cycle and the water was room temperature. It's connected to the hot water line and when it initially fills, it's the temperature of the tap hot water, but then it cools during the cycle and never heats up. I've checked a couple of things, but I'm not sure where to go from here: 1 I measured the resistance on the heating element and it was 16 ohms, which I've read is typical. 2 Mine has a float valve in the center of the dishwasher. I removed it and it was completely clogged with grease. I don't know if this is a cause of the problem or just a result of not having had hot water. I cleaned it out with hot water and and air compressor. Now when I turn it upside down I can hear something slide. I connected a continuity tester to two of the pins on the bottom. In one direction there was no continuity, but if I flipped the float upside down there was or vice versa, don't remember. Something in there is working, but there are 7 different pins, so I don't know if it is a combination switch and thermostat and several other things? the part is WD21X10519 When it runs and is full of water, the water comes up just short of the heating element. Is that normal? Is it supposed to be submerged? (EDIT: I've read from other sources that it's supposed to be just below the heating element, so this sounds normal) Any idea of what I should test before guessing and replacing a part? Thanks!

Under need of dishwasher base right side half way thermostat u can manually reset by push in middle of it small reset button see if that was issue If that doesn’t help these dishwashers been having a problem with the heating elements replace it we should take care of the problem and have to run through the diagnostic mode to reset the control board
This was it. Incidentally, it's not listed on any of the GE parts lists, but it is on the wiring diagram folded up and tucked underneath the machine.
If there’s a thermal fuse, replace it.
Oops, posted reply in the wrong place:
"Thanks, Chris! Doesn't appear to be any thermal fuse, though another source (not the manufacturer) says that the float switch assembly contains a thermistor. Could that be the source of the problem?"
