GE Dishwasher won't heat water, heating element *seems* to be fine
I have a GE Model GDF620HGJ0BB. The water won't heat up and dishes come out covered in a thin greasy film. I replaced the float switch: WD21X10519, so it is new. The heating element tests at 16 ohms, which I think sounds normal. I'm reading a lot of, if it's not the heating element, it's the control board. Is there any way to test the control board or verify this before replacing it? Any ideas of anything else it might be? Could the heating element be bad even if it tests at a normal resistance? Thanks for any ideas or information!

If it has a thermal fuse, check that. If not, most likely a control board issue
This was correct. There was a manual reset thermal something or other on the right side of the tub accessible from the bottom (have to pull out dishwasher to find it). It has a little button on the bottom that resets. It is heating correctly now, thanks!
Fwiw, it isn't listed on any of the parts lists from GE, but there was a wiring diagram folded up and hidden away on the underside of the dishwasher that shows it.
Glad to help.
