GE JVW1650BH01 Spacesaver Microwave. Microwave totally dead, checked and replaced 20 amp fuse behind control panel
Everything appeared to be functional. Put cup of water in microwave started it, there was a loud hum similar to the sound the microwave makes when the magnetron activates, the interior light got very dim and then went dead, 20 amp interior fuse blew again.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that\'s usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.
If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that\'s usually a failing high-voltage transformer.
