My GE Spacemaker top load washer started malfunctioning this weekend. In its rinsing/spinning cycle (about 8 minutes left to finish the wash), the washer shakes violently back and forth for a few seconds and stops while showing a "U6" error code. I opened the top door and all the clothes were on one side of the drum (not evenly spread out). The water has all been drained but the clothes are very wet (more than usual). I tried it five times (with other clothes) and the results are always the same. How can I fix this problem?
