Gears wont engage on my smart car
Car is a 2000 SMART PURE. yesterday it was ok, today it wont engage gears. Can hear whurring noise under car but doesnt engage. Brake lights ok..CAN YOU HELP PLEASE? Dean

Could be one of two things Dean.
1- The transmission motor could need to be readjusted , and that is easy and always first choice. Under the car look at the transmission on the right hand side you will see a small motor with 3 bolts , loosen the bolts but do not remove , then open the ignition , do not start the car. ignition off and then tighten the bolts. Start the car and check it out. If still the same ... 2- Most probably you have a problem with the clutch and needs to be replaced.
