General Lee has no audio output
I've been using this radio everyday for about a year. I had it in the factory overhead slot in my truck. A few months ago it lost power. turned out to be a loose solder joint on the board caused by the power plug being pulled at an extreme angle inside the compartment. Had that fixed radio worked great......for a month! Then I noticed I there was no sound coming out of the ext. speaker. The meter is still moving when someone talks and people can hear me, so I've got TX and RX but no audio. I figured it was the ext. speaker. unplugged that and still nothing. a co-worker of mine tinkers with CBs so I had him check it out. Now Several months later, he replaced something and said that everyone he talked to about it, every manual he could find said that was the problem. he appologized and is bringing my radio to me because it still doesn't work.

Your CB lives in a hostile enviorment ...try a full resolder on every joint...the problem can be many tiny , unseen crack in a board track ,transistor / IC failure..dry joint, faulty resistor, possiable cap failure, but that is not often in ceramic ,but in the electros (dried out electrolite) i replace low value uF caps as a matter of course. In a case such as yours you need bench test equipment to repair a faulty set, it is not often that a repair is done at home but you were right to give it to you friend.....let us hope he has not moved the positions of any trimpots or tuning slugs
GOOD LUCK
