Genie garage door comes down and goes back up
Hi!
Our Genie garage door has been giving us problems for the past couple months. Earlier, whenever we would try to close the door, it would move down a little and the entire frame would shudder, and the door would come back up. On our 2nd try it would usually close. The frame would shake so violently that a nut had come completely loose once. After putting the nut back in place, the problem seemed to stop for a few days. Now the problem has exacerbated - it comes down, then goes back up multiple times. It sometimes takes us 10 tries to close the garage door. We thought it might be an alignment issue with the sensor, but moving that about has not helped much. Should we be calling a professional to look into this or car we do something ourselves??
Thanks a lot!

You need a general inspection of all related parts. Make sure none of the track mounting bolts have loosened leaving a misalignment of track segments. CAREFULLY with power off use fingers. turn EACH roller. Something as simple as a bad roller bearing can cause this, even a flat spot on a worn roller. Rollers can be bought at a home supply store. These are 2 most causes.
