Genie garage door won't shut. the down limit switch wire (brown) got caught and I had to reconnect...stripped and twisted wires (just the brown down switch wire) together ... door still won't shut , it opens though) and I i get the error code that both limit switch inputs are on. please help

You don't say which model you have, however, MOST Genie systems use the switches as temporary contacts. By twisting them together, the computer board is reading it as a short. You need to replace the switch and route the wires properly.
