Gevalia Coffee Maker will not heat - need someone with experience at the board level
Very nice coffee maker that suddenly stopped working. Both 184C thermal fuses are bad. Axial glass thermistor is 10K and seems OK - put in hot water and checked against table values. Pulled the board, hooked up to 24V relay coil to watch it cycle. 120V relay out is good. Put a pot across the thermistor to simulate rising temperature. Duty cycle was constant throughout temperature range - about 6 seconds on and 25 seconds off - until cutoff. Cutoff was at 146F - way too low. One spot on the board - near a hefty diode - is darkened, but all the diodes and resistors seem OK. Caps don't look bad - could only check for shorts without removing. All else functions - clock, timer etc. no error codes. Any ideas? Thanks, David
