Green power light continues to flash when camera is "off"
I just put this note in with some people's messages re: same problem but I see it's coming up in the "solved" category because someone suggested that maybe there's an additional battery of some sort somewhere else in the camera. I didn't think that was a solution, so I'm re-posting in this area. In a nutshell, the green power lamp next to the selection wheel on top of the camera continues to flash even when the monitor is turned off and the lens barrier is shut. It will flash until the battery has no charge left. I couldn't find anything in any reference material that came with the camera. Finally called Olympus and the customer service guy consulted all his reference material, his peers and his supervisor and could not tell me what's going on. They did send me a new battery :) but it didn't help with the flashing light. I don't think it's a matter of barrier incomplete closure or anything like that. One thing I did notice is that when the power lamp is flashing and the lens barrier is closed, the monitor doesn't want to come on right away - sometimes I have to try three or four times to get it to come up so I can view pictures.
If anyone has any ideas about this or has found a solution (other than removing the battery when camera isn't in use), I'd really appreciate it.
Regards,
Bonnie
