Had water in the battery compartment and the screen is black . It continued to run but now it wont turn on even tough battey is charged. Its a 2008 model and its past the warranty. Is it hooped ? Murray

HI i am affraid theres is nothing to do whit that
water and electronics doens t fit together,
but with an air dryer open the battery door imedately
removed all wather as you can then try to maked dry
at a medium heat watch to not be to closed of the
camera jst an off to ....blow air in every hole or crack
you see specially the battery hole

After dropping your device into water, you have inserted cell or battery in your camera. Switching ON the device caused short in the circuit. It need to be send for service (repair), there is no other way to fix the problem.
