Hae been pleased up til now..... random artifacts beginning to appear almost like clipping seems to skip all of a sudden, checked cable to eliminate that possibility...... when i tip my shock mountdown or up it also will pop and i have a hard time even getting thru a tke

Try downloading ASIO4all at ASIO4all.com It should help. Just follow the directions. Let me know if this helps.
Sounds like a damaged capacitor, I have had the same issue.
Send it to Rode or an authorised repairer and it should be covered under the Rode 10 yr warranty, unless it was caused by a faulty Phantom power supply.
