Hansgrohe PB shower cartridge (brand new) passing water thru cold side with valve turned off. Six-year old cartridge replaced the other day. Removed side filters and cleaned. O-rings ok. Applied silicon grease and reinstalled. Installed cartridge, put on valve plate (four screws) and turned cold water back on at valve stops. After about 10 seconds water started coming out shower head. Turned off stop, removed cartridge assy and checked o-rings. Were in place, grease was smeared on filter plate surfaces. Re-installed again, turned on valve stop and water came out of the shower head at about a pint a minute. Continued to leak until I turned off cold stop. Hot side is from an instant hot-water heater so I can't tell if the hot side is leaking also. You can hear the water flowing through the valve when the valve stop is turned on. Could there be a slight mis-alignment in the valve assy with the new cartridge? How would I ever know? Should I also replace the plastic filter holders?

What is the model number of the unit in question? What color was the old cartridge in the valve and the new cartridge that you replaced it with? If no model number do you have any pictures of this valve/trim in question? It could be that you got the wrong replacement cartridge or something is not properly aligned within the valve. Hi David, The unit in question is a Watermark Tempress Pressure balance shower valve that had a Hansgrohe PB cartridge installed. P/N 92999000. The unit was made in Canada and I replaced the cartridge with an identical part (same P/N) . BTW, the 92999000 P?N replaces a 13408-18 which comes out as aGrohe P?N, not HansGrohe. Not sure what that means. I was thinking there maybe some misalignment, but I measured out both valve this A.M. and they appear identical. I was gonna try not fully installing the filter pieces (leave a gap) and when I push the cartridge in let it do the pressing to see if there is some wiggle room by me placing them in by hand. Have to go to work now, but thank you for your answer and reply and look forward to talking with you should this new try not pan out...
