Hard Disk Drive not detected
I recently purchased a hitachi hdd model no: hdp725025gla380 s/ata. The problem is that my pc does not detect it, i have a 250 gb & a 80gb sata hard drives, which work fine but when i remove them and connect the 250gb hitachi on startup my pc does not detect the drive so i cannot install an operating system on it, do i need an installation disk?, is it something to do with the slave master port on back of unit? as this is different to my other drives, even though the sata power & motherboard connectors are identicle? please help

When installing a new hard drive, there is nothing for the bios to read to run the operating system
go to the bios , boot section and change the boot sequence to boot from cd first
then restart the computer and reinstall the operating system disc in that cd when the computer is up and running change the bios back to hdd as first boot selection
