Harman kardon avr 7000 will not power up
I got this receiver with it working only in stereo. When I tried any of the surround modes, the right channel was very very weak and none of the surround channels worked. If you plug in headphones, it would flash "HE" and put a little static and nothing else. I then pull it apart and find 4 1000 mf 6.3v caps on the dts board that had swollen. I replace those 4 and the other 2 6.3v with 10v. After re assembling and reconnecting the 2 boards, the receiver does no power up, the push switch gets it to stand by, but past that, nothing. It powered up without the dts board and video board in. Just didn't make sound. I then pulled the receiver apart 1 connection at a time. Nothing got it to power up, I put it back together the same way testing after each connector. Nothing still. I believe my problem is in the supply board, but I am still working on testing it out. Has anyone had this happen. What caused it to not power on. Nothing clicks - the ring around the switch does not go from red to green, its as if I am not even pressing that switch. Can anyone help ? Thanks. Srinath.
