The item was installed in 2009 and worked fine until the late fall of 2010 when it did the same thing once,then worked fine - started up either way - until last June when it would not start until I had tried over 30 times to get it to start with the key, then worked fine for 3 weeks, and repeated again. then it work okay for 2 months and started acting up again and we took it to the shop each time and they never could find any problem - it never would not start up for them or show anything on the computer. now it is doing this every 2 weeks and is really getting to be a problem and everyone thinks that the remote start system could be the problem

Properly installed remote starters rarely interfere with normal operation of a vehicle. There can sometimes be an issue with the security module that interfaces with the vehicle anti theft. Although rare it can be diagnosed easily. Most often is the vehicle security system components found to be degrading overtime causing intermittent issues. Passlock, passkey 123, pats, all have their own unique component failure issues.
