OK, I use 9.10, I just upgraded from 8.04. This sounds like a codec problem, something to do with the format of the cd's. BTW, in April, the next LTS comes out.. 10.04. The distro you have right now is a LTS. Come April, you can not do an auto upgrade directly to 10.04, as they have changed too many things. I suggest doing a fresh install to 9.10 soon, and then in April, you can get the auto upgrade directly, and start using the LTS once again. 9.10 Karmic is pretty sweet. Best one yet. Had problems with wireless drivers at first, but theyve already patched it. Its VERY nice. Go to the Ubuntu homepage, burn the ISO, and its a fast install. Down to a total of like 20 mins. Nothing like previous distros. Everything worked out of the box. :-D
