Have a 1996 nissan terrano v6 petrol. The battery went flat and I recharged it. When I put the recharged battery back in the car sounds an alarm and wont start (immobiliser?). The alarm stays on for a short period then stops no dash lights or anything comes on at all. When I brought the car it did not come with an alarm button so had no idea it even had one until this happened. Any help anyone could offer would be greatly apprieciated. Cheers
I'm almost sure you need a new battery. Depending on how dead the battery was, the recharging process returns its normal life operation. From what you describe, the battery is not giving your car a normal voltage even after recharging
When the alarm sounds, turn the key to the RUN (NOT START) position, then OFF - do this 10 times rapidly. Many alarms will turn off and allow the car to start with this method.
Hi there I tried your suggestion unfortunately it didnt work. I have since had an autoelectrician remove the immobiliser system entirely. The truck now starts no problem. Thanx for your help appriceiate it :)Hi there I tried your suggestion unfortunately it didnt work. I have since had an autoelectrician remove the immobiliser system entirely.
