Have a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Parking brake failed inspec. Replaced rear rotors & adjusted the cable. Not holding. Tightened cable to max. Still not holding. Suggestions?
Cables are OK. Readjusted brake shoes. Still not holding. Has rotor & drum combo, with brand new rear brakes. UPDATE: Replaced both cables. Holds in Rev & Neut but not in Dr! At my wits end!! Don't have any idea what to do next. SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!

Have you check the cables to see they move correctly. If they are broken or seized replacement is required
Change the cables. It will work and the cables are not too costly
