Have a 99 Fleetwood Terry. The refrigerator works only on propane and when plugged into a 120 volt plug. Should it also work when connected to two car batteries? If so what maybe the issue?

Is this a 3 way fridge. ie does it have a 12volt connection. If it is the following information may be helpful.:
The 12 volt heater should only operate when car engine running as the current draw (approx. 17amps) will quickly drain batteries. Also if fridge is set up to run on 12volt then the 12 volt heater element is possibly faulty and a replacement is needed
