Have a Hotpoint fridge - defrosted 2 weeks ago - now not cooling - have changed fuse. Switched on and off -nothing. I just hear a click in background. Please can you tell what to do??
By the compressor which is usually located on bottom of refrigerator. Motor looks like a nuclear reactor with an electric plug on the side. If youi have no capacitor but do have a start relay just take out the relay and shake the heck out of it - makes any noise it is BAD!!!By the compressor which is usually located on bottom of refrigerator. Check out the start capacitor and/or start relay. If defective the compressor will not start and hence no cooling.
Also make sure that the motor is receiving power from the thermostat circuit.
