Have a polaroid tlc-04011c lcd tv, red light comes on but will not turn on. I had the power supply checked out, even purchased another one both were good. the tech I went to said it could only be the "mother board". But am having trouble locating one. Do you think this could be the problem?

It could be a pcb inside, such as L-main, Main, or Y-main, if you open it up and check all the panel voltages you could find the board with the problem by unplugging a board at a time and then seeing if the voltages come up, the voltages are on a sticker and the test points and pots to set them are on the power supply board and the DC-DC board.
You need to have a pro to check or repair it for you. You need to check also the panel, because the panel could be shot.
Good luck!
