"Tested with other speaker and cable" ... you did not tell us the results of the test. If swapping the speakers and cablles still had the same dead side, it is probably the power amp for that side and not the mixer part. Take in for repair. If you had an accident of speaker cable not being plugged in fully or pulled out while operating, this pops the power amp real quick. They also just plain fail at times. Plug a set of headphones into the MONO out jack. If you can hear audio going through the unit then the mixer is OK... and the power amp on the failing side has a failure. Note the headphones will be low level and probably only one side, usually the left as this is a mono signal and headphones are normally stereo.
So it turns out the power amp was dead on the left channel. Samson wouldn't warranty replace/repair the unit so I ordered a new board and replaced it. The cost was $56 or so. I've used the unit several times since then with no problem. So it turns out the power amp was dead on the left channel. My XP510i has same problem. I've only used it a handful of times for band & solo practice...pretty disappointed. Luckily, I bought through American Musical and they threw in an extended one yr warranty the repair is covered by a company called TSI. Hope to have it back soon. Do you still have yours....any issues in the last 15 mos since the repair? My XP510i has same problem. I've only used it a handful of times for band & solo practice...pretty disappointed. Have a friend with the same left channel problems: In fact he has had 3 units fail (original + 2 dealer replacements). The dealer, Metronome Music in Mansfield, Ohio , has dropped the unit, as a result of the consistent failures, & refuses to refund money, or attempt repairs. He states that the left channel would pop, & the fan/led's would shut down. The unit would become functional again, after a "rest". As time went on, the system would shut down anytime a load was applied to the left channel. He is currently running the system with the right channel only. It's an expensive boat anchor, especially when the dealer ignores you.
I just had the same problem. with the left channel. I took it to a local repair shop and they informed me that Samson demanded they do the repair at 50.00 per hour. They would not sell the board to them. This sounds like a common problem. Im not a happy camper and from the sound of things it will happen again. Samson is a piece of **** in my opinion. I only had the system for about 4 years and did not use it that much. I will not ever buy another Samson system. I now have an expensive boat anchor. Buyers beware!
