Have a Sony cd. player and it keeps open the tray. After about 30 second to 3 minutes it will finally read it and then play. Is there anyway to fix this problem?
Audio Players & Recorders - Harman Kardon - Sony CDPCX355 CD Player
This is a problem you should refer to a qualified audio tech. it may be mechanical, but more likely a digital/logic control problem. Either way, an untrained person has no chance of resolving this problem. You may have to consider if the unit is worth the repair cost.
The comment by bmcdoodle may be O K, but CD player lenses rarely, if ever, need cleaning. You didn't say whether this happens on all disks you play, or not. The first thing you should do when this happens is clean the CD with soap and water, drying with a lint-free cloth. If this fails to correct the problem, the disk may be scratched or damaged perhaps beyond repair, or there i sa fault with the player. The comment by bmcdoodle may be O K, but CD player lenses rarely, if ever, need cleaning.
