Have "new" HP desktop. USB drivers not able to repair
All USB ports, died.
They worked at the outset, and then the computer sat while I used my laptop for my biz. Went to plug up my WD5000 ext HD to do a xfr of data into the desktop, and blam, drivers dead, and non repairable. HP wants me to do a bench repair, but that means sending it off for about a week. Any suggestions beyond uninstall/reinstall (doesnt work), full recovery (wipes out my important mail and cant back it up), restarts, earlier restore points (didnt bring them back) and other common fixes will be very welcome. And thanks for any help from good sources. :)
