These were a fine monitor and with the kind of image quality you cannot get on TFT's. If you know the graphics card you are using is working ok, have checked the VGA cable connection and socket at the monitor and computer and have tested the monitor on another computer, that would rule out any problems as far as connected devices are concerned.
The problem you describe, and it is unusual that it has happened so quickly, points to a failure of the monitor internal board. You may be able to get this repaired at a reasonable cost by seeking the opinion of a TV repairman, who might be able to fix it.
