Have trouble getting the computer system to recognize the smartdisk firelite usbflb250 on the usb port. says the program didn't install correctly and the device will not work nor is it recognized by the my computer tab in windows

Does it make any weird noises(I mean anything out of the ordinary). Please provide this info so that I can help you with your problem.

Open device manager. Click start->run->type in devmgmt.msc Once the device manager opens, remove any usb devices connected to the computer and uninstall all the drivers under USB controllers(right-click and click uninstall). Once this is done reboot the computer and open control panel. Connect your hard drive and use the add hardware wizard to search for and re-install the USB drivers again. Thats all, Your hard drive should now be detected by windows.
