Having problems starting my 1985 yamaha maxim xj700 after it sits over night i have to crank it for like 5 min b4 it will even try to start the next time i feel it shouldnt take that long. Also once it does start and i take it for a ride it has a bad hesitation in the beginning of all the gears b4 it really wants to go any suggestions???
Ck the plugs they are prob filled with carbon , if so get the carbs adjusted and make sure after it starts for a few seconds you open that choke all the way so this does not happen ,ck the vacuum hoses if one has a pin hole in it it will run like crap like you are saying , this is the number one thing with bikes , the sit and have bad gas and it will run like crap or you have a vacuum problem or a gas problem or a bad air filter ,gas filter , it is always something stupid for the most part , you need gas ,air ,and spark , eveything else is set,
