Saying a forced air heater works with the cover lifted or off is like me saying I can take the tires off my SUV but it doesnt handle as well! All dynamics are altered when the cover is lifted and you've just thrown the rule book out the window. I've actually seen do it yourselfers cut with tin snips a hole in the top cover to get it to heat, of course it only putting out the fraction of heat is was supposed to.Saying a forced air heater works with the cover lifted or off is like me saying I can take the tires off my SUV but it doesnt handle as well!
