Heater used once 3 yrs ago. Now wont start
Heater worked out of the box 3 years ago. Now, three years later, heater hums for 5 secs when plugged in. Does not start. Heater used in basement to thaw water pipe in groud. Heater was always indoors but never used since first day.
It appears to have very little kerosene in it. I dont know how much it needs. Perhaps there is a shutoff if kerosene is low?

When the heater hums is the fan turning. If it is I would add more Kerosene. There is no shut off but the Kerosene is sucked out a tube from the top of the tank. This tube does not reach quite all the way to the bottom of the tank. Your heater should hold about 9 gallons if it is empty. A couple of gallons would give it plenty to run though. Let me know.
