Hello, I have a 2000 BMW 328ci with two codes p1510 & p1397. The car does not go over 40 sometime. I erase the code and it drives fine. It comes back in few minutes. Sometimes drives with no problem with the light on. Please Advise
P1510 is not recognized by BMW .Sometimes, without any Reason it might show up. Other times, it is for Idle Speed Control Valve Stuck. Check the wiring to it as well, make sure nothing's damaged. If not, you likely have a stuck idle valve.
P1397 is a camshaft sensor fault which is very common on these cars and can certainly make the car stall, but not usually in the way that you're describing. I did recommend replacing the sensor.Stay away from aftermarket sensors, they NEVER work properly.
