Hello , i have a delonghi dfs901ss , every time i use the fan oven it stays on for about 5 mins then trips the electrics , i have put a new fan element in and it does the same , i have removed the top of the oven to get to the selector and have noticed that 2 wires on the left hand side numbers 10 and 11 are getting extremely hot , i was wondering if it could be the switch thats faulty
They should certailey not be getting hot, this indicates a couple of possibilities. 1- bad or loose connections on the terminals where the wires are fastened on to the switch itself. This being the case, then you need to remake the connections. 2 -the switch terminals being dirty or corroded, clean them if they are. If none of these remedies rectifies the fault, then I would be inclined to replace the switch, as it could be bad contactst inside the switch itself. Look for loose terminals on the switch itself. Hope this helps with your problem. Please rate my suggested solution. Thankyou.
The short wire you refer to is called a link wire, it simply gives a direct feed to more than 1 terminal, this is a common practice, and not incorrect wiring.
Again, to reiterate, if this wire is getting hot, then it is more than likely a bad connection.
If possible, replace the link wire with a thicker gauge wire, as it is possible the wire is not capable of carrying the current, and this will cause irt to get hot.
You are unlikely to be able to obtain a wiring diagram unfortunately.Hi.
