Hello, I have a Riccar 8000. The belt works, the bar spins, and it will **** things up. However, it will not pick up threads and dog hair or anything from the carpeting. Mu husband took the bottom off and there were a couple of small parts on the plate. We have no idea where they belong. Could not see them in the photos in the manual. Could it possibly need a new roller? Any help would be most welcome. Thank you! Mary Simon
The belt should be replaced at least once per year. They lose elasticity and will slip when vacuuming. The brush strips in the brush roll can be replaced. It is well worth having it serviced by a Riccar dealer,. The 8000 series can last many years but any long lasting vacuum will require routine maintenance.
