Hello I have an old Riccar 6800 sewing machine
I have an old Riccar 6800 sewing machine which I bought second hand and I cant get it to sew. It was going when I bought it off the lady so I wonder if I am threading it incorrectly or not setting the dials in the correct positions. I just want to sew straight nothing fancy... thanks Laraine

Hiya, the threading for this machine is pretty standard so you won't be going wrong there. Have you used a sewing machine before? The tension dial (on the extreme left) should be set at 5. The other dial to your left should be on blue zigzag with orange broken line. The dial on the right should be set at 0 and the bottom one on 2 - 3. I've been looking for a manual for this machine as I inherited this one. It took me ages to suss straight sewing out. Another thought is take it to a repairer and ask for a quote. Good luck.
