Hello, i have m-audio dx4 studio speakers. the treble on one side has stopped working. they are over the warranty and would possibly charge more than i'm willing to pay, i wonder if it would be something i could fix myself??

Only if you can get the replacement part from m-audio. if you replace the tweeter with a generic one, it will ruin the sound of the monitors, and m-audio, most likely, will not let off of 1 tweeter unless you send it to them for repair.
