Hello, My Purepro makes a funny excessive noise when in function ever since I have cleaned it the first time. I carefully followed the instructions in the "Cleaning and Maintenance" section of the owner's manual, I also consulted the "Troubleshooting" section to try and find a solution to the problem. Not to mention that the red light indicating it is time to clean the machine never turned on ever since I have had this air purifier. What can I do? Thank you, Nelly
Air Purifiers - Montgomery Ward - Pure Pro Air Purifier
The purepro purifier is known to be quiet on the low setting but loud on the medium and high settings.
Since you have tried all possible tests on it,best option will be to call up the manufacturer and have them replace the unit for you (thats if it is under warranty)
First Check to see that the ESP cell and pre-filter are completely seated in housing. Check to see that the Oxygen Plus™ filter is completely seated in housing. If this solves your problem it's ok or else. Clean and dry ESP cell and pre-filter thoroughly. Keep the machine dry. This means remove the water from the machine for a minimum of 4 hrs and dry or hot blow the machine after removing water source. If this also does not helps then kindly let me know the area in which you live.
Can you post the EXACT model number on your PurPro unit? Is it Purepro PP200T Tower Air Purifier? ===== Ionizer + UV unit has four major parts ==== Fan(s) (depending on your unit) that will make noise when it's off balance. ==== High voltage discharge circuit and plates. It will make noise when there is a small amount of moisture is present. Example: after washing /cleaning the unit or when liquid base air freshener spray over the unit. Do you has an automatic / timed air freshener pointed to the direction of this unit?Is it in the kitchen or near any water source?Example: car / dog water dishes? ==== UV light It does not make noise. ==== I recommend you to check the warranty period of this unit and let the manufacture the high voltage discharge board. There is no serviceable unit inside most ironic unit. It's also very dangerous to handle high voltage electronic and get direct exposure to UV light. =====Reference information from WikiLink HERE

Open the front cover.
There is an user serviceable air filter. (foam)
Just rinse it with hot water until it is clean.
This will restore the air restriction to the system.
