Hello,I have a Imperial IFS deep fryer S#06301407 .We had a pinhole repaired in tank.I know that tank was removed prior to repair .Unit did work fine other than leak before tank repair. After lighting pilot and then turning thermostat on ,burners did light but would not turn off by thermostat control knob.I immediately turned off gas supply.I can hear thermostat clicking in and out for lack of better term and could also hear when it wouldnt turn off.Would appreciate any suggestions or testing procedures to differentiate between gas valve or thermostat problem.Thank -You in advance

You can use a jumper wire to test the valve. The voltage is LESS than 1 volt so do not worry. Imperial fryers usually use a robershaw gas valve. the 2 outside terminals...left and right.... are where the thermostat connects. Using a jumper wire after the pilot is lit will tell you if the valve is good or if it's the thermostat. You can also use a multimeter and check the continuity of the thermostat.
