HELP ASAP , OVER HEATING
Van is over heating, heat not working, fluids full so they changed thermostat and put new radiator because we found a crack. Thought it was fixed, drove it for test run, Gage went up to hot again, pulled over steam coming out but no fluids leaking, tried pulling thermostat out just so he could drive to work ( temp.) But as soon as he drove it went up to hot again! So now what, others said uptake plugged, or water pump, any ideas please! :)

Check for water in oil if so blown head gasket
You need to have the system check for pressure-it should be about 17psi -if it goes higher you have a blown head gasket which is blowing the coolant out of the system-or you might just have a radiator cap which is failing to hold pressure-up to 17psi- also youmay not be getting all the air out of the system and have an air pocket which will get super hot and steam the antifreeze- have the system vacummed down and the antifreeze will be sucked back into the system eleminating the air pockets-so you have a few things to look here-Ihopr this helps-Denny
the only time I've experienced water pump failure the bearings would go out and leak a puddle right under pump-combustion leaking into coolant will not put oil into water-the same thing for coolant leaking into combustion chamber and burning and causing white smoke and a sweet smell out the tailpipe-are the fans kicking on-to check this start engine and run a/c on max this will turn both fans-hope this helped -Denny
another thought -slipping belt-a worn belt may cause this -you could spray belt dressing on old one to see if this helps- cheers Denny
