HELP DELETING QB 2005
I have QuickBooks Pro 2005 installed on this computer. The computer actually came from the business I was working for, which is now closed. I went to "Add or Remove Programs" and tried to delete the program. The response I get is: "Action only valid for products currently installed".... I know the program is still installed and is showing 4962.00MB. When I go to "RUN", it shows there also. I do not have the discs to try to "reinstall" the program only to try to delete it again..... I've even tried to do a system restore, but can't go back that far.... PLEASE HELP! I'd appreciate any input you may offer..... Thank you!

This commonly means the Microsoft Installer settings for the program are damaged or missing. This is actually a fairly common occurance and can be a sympom of registry issues. Microsoft has an Installer cleanup tool that can be useful at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301. This usually resolves the issue. If you are still having problems, search the Quickbooks folder for a file called REBOOT.BAT. Run this file ( this re-registers the software with windows) then try the cleanup tool again.
