Here is a more detailed question of the problem that I have caused myself. I opened up the top of my hobart a200 table top mixer because it was grinding pretty loudly. Ordered the proper grease and packed in in there. The old grease looked pretty good so I left most of it in. Anyway after putting it back together only first gear works. The transmission will shift into second but is real tight going into third. The problem is its not shifting gears,. Regardless of which gear I put it in it continues to run in first. What's the solution?
Sounds like you over tightened the main shaft nut to much and crushed the brass slip bushings. If they are crushed it will not allow the gears to slip. Only way out is to replace the bushings.
Here's the manual. https://my.hobartcorp.com/kroger/TechnicalServiceManuals/A200%20Technical%20Manual.pdf https://my.hobartcorp.com/kroger/TechnicalServiceManuals/A200%20Technical%20Manual.pdf my guess is that you didn't reassemble the gears properly.
