Hi everybody, I have a problem installing a dimm SDRAM Module on a MoBo Syntax SVX 400. User Manual says that till 4GB modules are supported. I bought a Transcend 1GB PC266 SDRAM module to increase the amount of RAM. When I inserted only this module into a memory socket, Mobo Starts a long beep and PC didn't boot. If I insert this module with other 2 512MB modules Windows recognizes only these last 2 modules and the Transcend 1GB module is not recognized. Are there any settings in the bios, or something else to do to use this memory module ? Thanks for the answer. Luca

One long beep signals a memory failure - the stick you just bought is faulty. BTW there is no PC266 in SDRAM the maximum is PC133. PC266 is the first standard that appeared for DDRAM. so you most likely have bought something not right from the start.
