Hi hows it going well i have a 1997 honda civic.The problem was that the dipstick tube poped out and oil was leaking everywhere i was on the the road so wht i would do is just stop every couple of miles and throw more motor oil in it so i kept driving it due to the fact i was no where near home so about 2 blocks from home it started to smoke real bad from the frontend(engine)i stoped and let it calm down afer awhile it just gave up on me and wouldnt turn on so i had to push it home i got home i let it cool down and started to check it mind u when it was driving it made these horrible clanking noises so when i poped the hood i noicted the dipstick tude was in the side of the pulley i took it of fixed that problem even threw more oil in it because it was dry i pilut 4 quarts so i try cranking it up and still wouldnt turn on so i started to check around and underneath the car nd saw a puddle of oil and thats when i saw that the engine block was cracked now the crack looks like if something from the inside poped of beacuse the crack is poped out now my question is what should i do is it repairable or did i blow my engine id really aprreiate sum feedback from you guys before i got out there and invest money in the car thatnk you for your time and hope to hear back

No, it is not repairable, it is blown, good and gone. What punched out the side of the engine block was an iron rod called a connecting rod, affixing the piston to the crankshaft. When it happens, it's a total loss for the engine, the whole bottom end is just scrap iron. The loud clanking was probably the end and pieces of the conn rod being thrown around by the turning crankshaft.
You will need to find another engine for it, if you want to keep the car. All from a dipstick tube, you have experienced a blown engine, also known as "throwing a rod", the usual consequence of oil starvation. A big loss, but you be wiser for it. Good luck.
