Hi, I bought my Lasonic Boombox a while ago. I turned it on and that only lasted for a little bit, then it made a buzzing noise, switched off and a bit of smoke came out of it. now it won't turn on.I think the fuse might be blown but I don't know what to do with it. Was is also something to do with the adaptor? cause I bought it in the US and I live in the UK so I don't know
Sounds like its blown. If you bought it in the U.S. and tried to use it in the U.K. then you may have inadvertently fried the system. The U.S. uses 115 Volts AC and the U.K. user 240 Volts AC. If you plugged it in to the U.K. power with out a voltage reducer the radio received 240 volts of raw power instead of its required 115 volts it was built to handle. Is possible a locale repair shop may be able to save it by replacing it's internal volta-pack, but it won't be cheap. Hate to hear that happened to you, this is a great sounding radio! Don't feel bad this happens all the time as not many people know about the voltage difference between countries.
