Hi, i bught used hoshizaki model#km-z55bah ice machine, i came home and hooked it up. there was only the water line hook up the electrical cord to hook up. but i go to turn it on and it doesn't start,there is a reset button after i press it it runs for about 3 or 4 seconds and shuts off. if i set the swith to wash it starts the washing cycle. is there something else i need to do to make it work? i would really appreciate any help with this matter, thank you very much

It sounds like the compressor motor is bad which is why it isn't running. When the compressor starts there is too much pressure and the safety to prevent damage is kicking in to stop it from damaging the unit any further. The reason it will start the wash cycle is because the typically doesn't involve the compressor cooling the unit.
If the unit has been sitting unused a while i seen valves and even the expantion valve stick . once in a while you can fix it the army way..get a hammer . really just try a few taps to all the valves . first not running then again as soon as it starts up..if this by chance solved the problem then exspect a costly repair for later. another thing to find out if your unit has a low pressure control.. if so then it could just be low on refrigerant..
