Hi. I can't factory reset my ASUS s500c. Anyway here's the deal, my jealous older brother has done something to my laptop, Can you believe that, a family member. Please, help, anyone !
You can choose your friends and get rid of them if they don't come up to scratch, unfortunately relatives are for life...
You could try system restore but I haven't had much luck with that. Usually when I get a problem I just reload the operating system and all the software but the Windows disc should offer you the chance to repair the existing system. I have never attempted that but a friend has used it successfully.
There are more ways to kill a cat than choking it with cream. The operating system can be loaded onto a flash drive or memory stick and the boot order adjusted in the bios so it boots from the memory stick and then either the system repair facility could be used or the OS reloaded. A usb stand-alone dvd drive could be used instead. Laptop hard drives are often easy to remove and with the correct adaptor can be formatted by another computer.
If only drivers are missing the device manager should be able to locate the drivers you need and instal them automatically either from the OS or via the internet.
