Hi, I descaled my machine yesterday - (it was working well until I did this.) I cleaned the solution out. Made sure the boiler was filled and then next day I pulled one shot - switched the button to steam. It was making steaming noises while it was heating up to steam temperature then it tripped the wall switch and turned off. Now when I plug it in and the power button is switched off it trips the fuse on the wall plug. I dont get any lights and if I switch it on and turn reset the wall switch I dont get any lights. I have reset the boiler and let the machine cool down. Any idea what I did to screw up my machine. Guess I shouldn't have cleaned it. It just seems to be over loading the circuit in the wall which it never did before
Hi there, The most common cause for a machine tripping your supply is a faulty element. Usually it is found after descaling as well as basically the scale which is covering the fault is removed and then the contact with water makes it short out. It could be so small that you can't even see it but it is a problem that i have encountered before in many cases. If you require spares or repairs and you are within the UK please get in touch at [email protected] and i will be able to sort you out. I have full access to Rancilio spares so not a problem to get you parts if you want to repair it yourself.
