Hi I have a 1998 Hyundai Elantra. There aren't any codes in the computer and it has acceleration problems. It has no power at times even if I floor it(seems like it out of gas). It hesitates at take off and at highway speeds seems like it's stuck in a gear and keeps revving to get out of it. Runs better at high RPMs than low. Thanks
Hi, You do not need to remove the seat to relieve the fuel pressure, this is done under the hood. I have attached a picture to help you find the location. What are you trying to perform??? Fuel pump test or fuel pump removal?? I'm thinking test. There is a relieve port located in the fuel supply line that has a schrader valve to allow pressure to be released. Cover it with a rag or your gonna know what fuel taste like or cause pressurized fuel to spray you in the face.
:) change your spark plugs.. Remove one and have a look at it,, you'll see it needs changing.. If its covered with oil,, change your cylinder head gasket as well.
the back seat (under part is held in place by 2 clips.. to the front of it, is a push clip,, push it,,m lift seat off,, remove panel hiding tank.. remove fuel pump.. Before buy a new one,, run a positive wire from your battery to the positive on pump,, ground negative on car,,, If pump dont start,, replace it,, if it does,, put it back!!

just depress the fuel pressure test port on the top of the engine to bleed off the pressure, but really there isn't that much pressure and u would be ok just to take the line off at the tank, another thing u can do is disconnect the fuel pump connector at the fuel tank and start the engine, the engine wioll burn off the pressure and stall.just depress the fuel pressure test port on the top of the engine to bleed off the pressure, but really there isn't that much pressure and u would be ok just to take the line off at the tank, another thing u can do is disconnect the fuel pump connector at the fuel tank and start the engine, the engine wioll burn off the pressure and stall.

Have you located the relief valve?
Where do we stand at this point?
